Heela Omarkhail is Vice President, Strategic Initiatives and Partnerships at The Daniels Corporation, where she leads the company’s commitment to building inclusive and resilient communities. A strategic and visionary leader, Heela ensures that social impact is embedded in every facet of Daniels’ work—prioritizing affordable and accessible housing, local economic development, and social infrastructure to foster thriving neighbourhoods.

Since joining Daniels in 2009, Heela has played a pivotal role in the Regent Park revitalization, recognized as a global model for inclusive urban development. She co-produced and co-wrote multiple iterations of The Journey, a musical production that has raised over $5.5 million for Regent Park’s cultural hub, Daniels Spectrum. Heela also had a leadership role in the development of Daniels Waterfront – City of the Arts, managing relationships and negotiating agreements with all of the arts, cultural and institutional owners within the new community.

Heela’s lived experience as an immigrant to Canada fuels her passion for equity and commitment to creating opportunities for underrepresented communities. She is a founding co-chair of the Accelerating Accessibility Coalition and serves on the Board of Directors of Start2Finish, a national youth charity.

A frequent speaker and thought leader on real estate, community development, and philanthropy, Heela holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto.
