The Steps Of A New Home Purchase
1. Sign on the dotted line.
Once you decide which home to buy, signing your Agreement of Purchase and Sale (APS) sets everything in motion. This step is as exciting for us as it is for you!
Speaking of excitement, just wait until your colour selection appointment! During this private appointment, our décor consultant will help you choose the features and finishes that will truly turn your house or condominium into your “home.” Have a ball looking through the multitude of gorgeous choices, and rest assured that your knowledgeable guide will be there to answer your questions every step of the way.
3. The ball’s in our court.
We build, build, build, and before your Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) is conducted, a Daniels Representative will perform a Quality Assurance (QA) Inspection. We want your home to be as perfect as possible before you get your first look.
4. Then it’s your turn.
Before occupancy, one of our Daniels Customer Care Representatives will schedule your PDI and take you on a tour of your new home, so that you can ask questions and note any items you may see. Here you will learn everything from how to operate your appliances to adjusting your air conditioning.
5. Hey, hey hey, it’s move-in day.
Your closing is a day of celebration as you walk into your beautiful new home and start making memories.
6. How’s it going?
At 30 days after taking possession, there is a Tarion Warranty Corporation form due. This form allows you to note any issues or concerns you have about your new home. Be sure to fill it in early enough so that Tarion receives it on time.
7. Where has the year gone?
One year after occupancy, we haven’t forgotten about you! There is another form due at Tarion on this date. You are expected to remember to fill out the form on time. If you want a reminder, register for MyHome (https://myhome.tarion.com) section of the Tarion website, where you can manage your warranty and submit forms online.
