FREELANCE GRAPHIC DESIGNER (CASUAL)

Daniels is looking to recruit a freelance Graphic Designer to support various corporate initiatives. This position is a remote, casual employment contract.

Working in collaboration with the Communications & Social Media Manager, the ideal candidate will develop 1-5 visual assets per month including, but not limited to, email newsletters, invitations, templates and social media graphics (number of deliverables will vary each month).

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and design visual assets to support Daniels initiatives including Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, quarterly employee newsletters and other employee engagement programs
  • Maintain an open line of communication with Communications & Social Media Manager, ensuring projects are delivered on-time and on-budget
  • Provide strategic advice on how to best present information in visual format
  • Manage graphic design projects from briefing through to final delivery, including coordinating the revision process

Requirements:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of design software, including Adobe Suite or Figma
  • College or university degree in graphic design, fine art, visual media, or related discipline is an asset
  • 2+ years experience as a graphic designer, previous experience in a corporate setting is an asset but not required
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Keen eye for detail and proofreading
  • Exceptional project and time management abilities, with demonstrated experience undertaking concurrent tasks and managing multiple projects
  • An entrepreneurial work ethic
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain solid working relationships
