Daniels has been nurturing the Youth Empowering Parents program that trains and facilitates youth teaching adults English - language and computer literacy skills. This program was developed in Regent Park by two young men from the community, and was a recipient of the 2011 UN Intercultural Innovation Award. Daniels has provided mentorship to YEP and helped connect them with organizations around the city to further develop and replicate their program.

In 2007, Daniels demonstrated our solid commitment to increasing affordable homeownership in Canada by donating $700,000 worth of land to Habitat for Humanity Toronto.

The single-largest land donation by a private company in Habitat Canada's history. The donation of land allowed for 10 townhomes to be constructed at our WAVE Lakeshore West community located in south Etobicoke.

Another first in Habitat for Humanity Canada history, Daniels partnered with Habitat for Humanity Mississauga in a new concept to help deserving families realize their dream of homeownership.

Habitat Mississauga acquired a partially completed townhome within a Daniels FirstHome™ Community at significantly reduced costs, and volunteers and the partner family completed the interior work. This initiative represented a shift from Habitat's usual ground-up builds. As land availability in major urban centers dwindles and it becomes more difficult to acquire building lots, Habitat hopes this timely model will serve as an example to other developers and private sector organizations.
